This is the third year that pocket grants up to $500 are being awarded by the Belmont Area Business Association to help support special events and/or business area improvements in unique spots in our district.
We are all better when we work together and sometimes that takes a little extra funding to get the ball rolling.
Any business district improving project supported by three or more businesses can qualify for a pocket grant. Applications need to be turned in by May 5th. Monies will be awarded after the May BABA monthly business meeting held on May 11th.
Events and improvements that the monies help fund must be completed between July and December in the year awarded. Businesses receiving the grant need to collectively provide funding and/or in-kind donations equal to the grant funds. Applications from BABA members will be given the highest priority.
In the past BABA pocket grant funds have helped support the Open House and Pie Eating Contest at 60th and Stark which brings a half dozen businesses together to share the marketing costs and benefits of a great fall community event.
Looking forward to seeing the creative grant requests that come in this year!
